





























Albert Wassenaar is a missionary and has been for 47 years. Founder of Adopt A Mission and ministering around many diverse groups of people in South Africa. He has simply been motivated to please God and do Gods will. Only God can quantify or amplify his role to be a servant of servants. In this Albert reaches for a fullness of a seemingly impossible dream.
Riaan Oosthuizen has many years of experience in leading men's groups to drive accountability and impact. As a trustee of the trust he has taken responsibility for facilitating fundraising and support through the "Friends of Adopt a Mission" with his wife Anika. In his professional capacity he is the procurement manager for Jupiter South Africa.
Stefan has been passionately involved in the Brooklyn, Ysterplaat and Rugby communities since 2007. His greatest joy is to see God at work in the lives of individuals. In his professional life Stefan is an experienced Data Science leader at the Telkom Group.
Helgardt has a passion for family, community, and business. He is an ambitious networker and entrepreneur, and his vision is to show others a life outside of poverty and addiction. He has been involved in community projects in Cape Town since 1998.
Jaame joined Adopt A Mission in 2012, becoming part of the team that managed our community internet cafes in the Brooklyn area. His experience in administration proved valuable. In 2019 he became the administrator for the Entwined Roots Trust and he continues to serve the community by facilitating our work for food program, supporting the administration of the Brooklyn Superstars Football Club, and making an impact through his administrative tasks for the trust.
Callie is a chartered accountant and certified financial planner. He was held hostage by the Abu Sayyaf, a rebel extremist group in the Philippines in 2000. After being released, he vowed to make a difference in other people’s lives. He has been a past president of Rotary International where he was awarded the Paul Harris Award for various projects, the most prominent being a children’s project for Children with HIV. He is now committed to serve the Brooklyn community, and is particularly involved in the community garden & transformation projects.
Tommy is a man with an emphasis on working for love, who started serving God and people wherever needed. Through his working life, he was involved with arts and culture, graphic design, IT, web design, ecommerce, management, system administration, call centres, customer services, sales and restaurants. He is a man seeking the Kingdom of God, by following Jesus. He has always been keen to help others, and through friends of Jesus, was led to Adopt A Mission, people serving the community, and he is currently volunteering since 2019. He is assisting with various projects that aim to enrich each individual to unite and reach their potential. A testimony of God’s Love and Grace.





SJ is an Advocate with his own practice specializing in Fiduciary services. He assists the Entwined Trust with specific legal and compliance aspects. He says oom Albert opened a new world for him by practically showing him God at work and caring for His people. The people involved with Adopt A Mission and The Entwined Roots are amazing people who selflessly do God’s extraordinary work in the poor communities they serve.






The Entwined Roots Trust was established to create a model for good governance and accountability, bringing oversight to community projects in the Brooklyn, Ysterplaat and Rugby areas. It was established in 2017 and was registered as a NPO and a Public Benefit Organisation with SARS.
Our trustees have a diverse professional skill set with backgrounds in law, accounting, banking, insurance, and information technology. We have many years of personal experience in community development in the Brooklyn area, working with key local partners such as Adopt a Mission to deliver impact in the areas of food support, job creation, affordable housing, and rehabilitation from substance abuse.
